Creating places people want to go to, not just places people want to go through.

PROJECT UPDATES

As part of the City of Chattanooga’s ongoing efforts to create great public spaces and active streets that are the heart of downtown, the 3rd and 4th Street corridor will be transformed into an aesthetically pleasing, safe, and accessible facility that reconnects and extends the downtown grid beyond the urban core.

The project team kicked-off the Design Phase of the project in January 2019. The preliminary design for the project is expected to be wrapped up in early 2020. The remaining project schedule includes final design, right-of-way and utility coordination, and construction.

Stakeholder and public outreach will occur throughout the remaining phases of the project.

Please stay tuned for more project updates. If you have any questions, please contact Katie Snyder, CDOT Project Manager (423.643.6367, ksnyder@chattanooga.gov).
